This is a scheme which aims to support women to use exercise to manage the debilitating symptoms of post natal or ante natal depression. Although exercise is recognised as being helpful in the relief of PND it can be hard to be motivated to start or return to exercise when struggling with this illness. This scheme offers extra support to help women take those first steps. The scheme is aimed at women with both post natal/ante natal depression, but the scheme feels that it may also be able to offer support to individuals who have suffered the death of a baby. The scheme takes referrals from health professionals like GP’s, health visitors & midwives and organisations such as the House of Light. Self-referrals are also accepted and encouraged. Please click here for the scheme's flyer for further information and contact details.

You can shop with over 2,000 well known stores and each will donate up to 15% of what you spend. For example, John Lewis will donate 2.5%, Amazon 2.5%, The Body Shop 10%, some insurance retailers will even donate up to £30 simply for taking out a policy with them! So you may wish to consider registering and using it to raise money for Sands or our local branch of Sands. - Counselling Directory
